  1. Marvelous Miniatures -- Summer camp

    Join the Museum of Art for an in-person summer camp experience about miniature dioramas. “Marvelous Miniatures” is a new summer camp for 6th-8th grade students to create a miniature landscape scene using common household items as components and tools. This type of art is used in tabletop roleplaying games and is also in decorative arrangements and ornaments. The camp is free and will take place at the Museum of Art Monday, July 19 through Friday, July 23 from 8am-12pm each day. No previous art experience required.   1. Tai Chi Chuan

    The Tai Chi Chuan form comprises a series of slow movements flowing from one to the next. Tai Chi was created to improve health, meditation, and self-defense. The movements are done slowly and calmly. The emphasis is on relaxation, correct posture, and the efficient use of muscles. Studies have shown that Tai Chi can help lower blood pressure and improve balance, coordination, and flexibility. It teaches stress management and basic self-defense, and conflict management skills. The class will be learning Professor Cheng Man-Ching’s 37-posture Tai chi Chuan form. The instructor, Steven Haydu, has over thirty years of experience practicing and teaching Tai Chi Chuan.
