Claudia Preza will focus on the influential yet brief career of artist Ana Mendieta. Mendieta left her mark in the art world by transforming negative emotions such as fear, pain, and rage into powerful and provocative messages. Claudia Preza is an independent curator and art writer based in El Paso, TX. Preza has seven years of experience working with museums and galleries. Currently, she is one of the House Curators for Ungalleried, where she represents artists and art from the US/MX border. Her recent projects include an interdisciplinary collaboration with the El Paso Community College and an international call for art. Her curatorial and writing focuses on promoting artists that explore innovative techniques and themes of identity and community. Preza strives to highlight the work of artists exploring marginalized groups and showcase often overlooked ideas.
