  2. Community Care: The Historic Preservation of Phillips Chapel

    Phillips Chapel was built in 1911 by the grandparents of the late Clarence H. Fielder, a History Professor at New Mexico State University (NMSU). It was restored from 2009 to 2014, after a period of disrepair. Dr. O’Leary will discuss the history of the chapel, its importance in the African American Community and the restoration efforts.
