    Learn in conversation with youth who grew up in migrant farm working families about their experiences and their work on the Youth Council through the CAMP Program at NMSU. Visit the exhibit Dolores Huerta: Revolution in the Fields / Revolución en los Campos at BCC from 10-17-20 through 1-9-2021. The exhibition shares the compelling story of legendary activist and leader Dolores Huerta and the farm workers movement of the 1960s and 1970s. It features reproductions of historic and personal photographs, and graphic elements as well as a free, user-friendly, mobile tour smart phone app featuring interviews with Huerta, and a short bilingual documentary video. Dolores Huerta: Revolution in the Fields / Revolución en los Campos is organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service in collaboration with the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. This exhibition received Federal support from the Latino Initiatives Pool, administered by the Smithsonian Latino Center.

  2. Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design

    Guest presenter Officer Aaron Glymph has served with the Las Cruces Police Department for 13 years, the past 9 years as the Community Liaison Officer. Participants will learn how to manipulate their environment to create safer neighborhoods. Specific topics will include natural surveillance, access control, territoriality, and the need for good property maintenance. Ways to increase the perceived likelihood of detection and apprehension of criminals to further deter their actions will also be discussed.
