Geometric Aljamia “Spring Break Camp”
Monday, March 22, 2021
Campers in grades 1-8 learn to use a compass and protractor to explore tessellation patterns and create a geometric tile design with the Museum of Nature & Science; make rubbing plates with geometric designs for printmaking with the Museum of Art; and learn about the richness of Arabic culture and philosophy by making a Hamsa, which is a cultural symbol of peace that brings good fortune, health, and happiness with the Branigan Cultural Center. All activities are appropriate for all age groups. Campers are invited to a virtual tour of the exhibition, Geometric Aljamia, at the Museum of Art which inspired the camp activities.
