City Manager earns high marks on Annual Performance Review

CM Ifo Pili

The Las Cruces City Council yesterday conducted its first annual performance evaluation of City Manager Ifo Pili since he became city manager September 8, 2020, and Mayor Ken Miyagishima said City Council is very pleased with Pili’s performance.

“I wish to congratulate Ifo Pili for earning high marks during his first annual evaluation as city manager,” said Miyagishima. “Running a city is extremely challenging. In addition, coming from a different state with different rules, makes it even more challenging.”

City Council noted Pili’s strong leadership and communication skills, adaptability, and dedication.

“Ifo has been able to navigate the ship, provide the City Council with a nearly half-a-billion-dollar budget, and earn the city the title of 9th best run city in the nation,” Miyagishima added.

As city manager, Pili is the City Council’s sole employee. All other City employees report to the city manager. Currently, Pili oversees 1,512 full-time employees and an adopted fiscal year 2021-2022 budget of $499,632,525.
