[ARCHIVED] Road Closure Extended at Del Rey Boulevard and Telshor Boulevard

A temporary road closure at the intersection of Del Rey Boulevard and north Telshor Boulevard for the right-lane drop to southbound traffic onto Telshor Boulevard has been extended to Monday, April 19.

The extension of the project is to provide cable service to a nearby business. The project takes place 120 feet east of Commerce Drive heading east for 100 feet then turning north crossing the Telshor Boulevard corridor.

A detour will be in place at the intersection to use the traffic light for right turns onto north Telshor Boulevard  for southbound traffic. A temporary lane closure for northbound traffic will be set 265 feet west of the intersection of Del Rey Boulevard and north Telshor Boulevard. It is anticipated the work could take a day to complete.

For the public’s convenience, the temporary road closure and lane closure will not go into effect until 9 a.m. and will be removed by noon. Motorists who want to avoid any possible delays should seek an alternate route.

Access to surrounding businesses will be maintained during the construction. The road closure and lane closure will not affect the RoadRUNNER Transit route.

The City has verified that no conflicting public or private construction projects will take place in that immediate area during this time. The project is in City Council District 6.

For information, call the Public Works Department/Construction Management at 575/528-3098. The TTY number is 575/541-2182.
