“Culture of Empowerment: Know Your Rights: LGBTQAI+ with the ACLU”

Everyone has basic rights under the U.S. Constitution and civil rights laws. Learn more about what rights people in the LGBTQAI+ community hold, how to exercise them, and what to do when rights are violated.

“History Notes: Bracero Program”

Thursday, April 8, 1-2 p.m. (MST)

Discover history and culture through a monthly informal discussion series on the second Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. From April through June, the theme is “History of Agriculture.” In this presentation, Dr. Yolanda Levya of the University of Texas at El Paso explores the history of the Bracero Program. The Bracero Program was a work program between the U.S. and Mexico that guaranteed Mexican workers minimum wage, good living conditions, a savings account in Mexico, and safety from forced military service.
