The City of Las Cruces Museum System invites artist and artist team proposals for design and creation of a mural to be placed at the entryway of the Museum of Art.
The work’s theme should be inspired by the welcoming nature of the Museum of Art, which hosts exhibitions, public programs, and classes of a wide spectrum of art styles and mediums. The work should reflect our community.
Artists and teams are required to develop and submit a written concept for the mural art installation. A stipend of $5,000 is available for the selected artist for completion of the project.
Interested artists can email firstname.lastname@example.org for a complete prospectus including images and dimensions of the proposed mural site. Final submissions must be emailed back no later than April 19, 2021. Submissions sent after April 19, 2021 will not be accepted.
All submissions will be reviewed by jury process. The selected artist or art team shall enter into a contractual agreement to design, produce, and install the mural in collaboration with museum staff. The final art piece must be complete by June 30, 2021.
