Spruce Avenue between Telshor Boulevard and Wingate Road will experience a westbound right lane closure starting Wednesday October 14.
The traffic control will extend from Telshor, under I-25 to Triviz, then west to Wingate. G. Sandoval Construction, under contract with the City of Las Cruces, will be completing the installation of landscaping in the parkway on the north side of Spruce Avenue. The work will take up to four working days to complete. Due to the heavy traffic loads normally encountered in this area, congestion will be higher than normal. Motorists wishing to avoid delays are encouraged to seek alternative routes from October 14 - 16 and October 19.
To help alleviate traffic congestion, the lane closures will start after 8 a.m. and be reopened to traffic by 3 p.m. each day. RoadRUNNER Transit Route 1 may experience delays depending on the level of traffic congestion at the Spruce/Triviz and Spruce/Telshor intersections.
This work borders City Council District #3 and #6. For more information, contact the Public Works Department, Construction Management section at 575/528-3098. The TTY number is 575/541-2182.
