The Museum of Nature & Science invites all middle and high school students to join us online for a virtual “Teen Science Café” with guest presenters from Apache Point Observatory. The event will be held through a closed Zoom webinar at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23. Please contact Stephanie at firstname.lastname@example.org to register for a link to the event.
Connect, live, with astronomers from Apache Point Observatory in Sunspot, NM. The original remote learners, APO scientists use technology to study Earth’s moon since they can’t easily commute out of orbit. Students will see how the 0.5-meter telescope is operated from inside the observatory. The telescope will take incremental photos of the moon’s surface showing the craters and mountains that students can print and assemble into a moon map at home.
