The City of Las Cruces will conduct a FREE drive-through mask distribution event from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 3, in the parking lot at Doña Ana Community College (DACC), 2800 Sonoma Ranch Boulevard.
The event is part of the City’s on-going campaign "Mask Up Las Cruces." More than 5,000 reusable masks will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis, in partnership with DACC.
“The fight against coronavirus is not over,” Lynn Gallagher, Quality of Life Director said. “Wearing a mask reduces everyone’s risk for infection.”
The public will be able to enter through the DACC main entrance, off Sonoma Ranch Boulevard, then follow the signs to the distribution site. There is no cost, registration or ID required to pick up a mask. But community members must remain in their vehicles and roll down their windows as they approach the distribution tables. No walk-ups or bicyclists will be permitted.
In compliance with all public health orders, staff and volunteers will be wearing personal protective equipment. Census takers will also be on site helping community members answer their 2020 Census.
