Virtual Meeting for Walnut-Madrid Bike/Pedestrian/Utility Improvements Project

City residents are invited to participate in a virtual meeting to be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 9.
The project in the Walnut-Madrid Corridor directly affects about 185 properties and anyone who uses the route. The purpose of this project is to promote pedestrian and bicycle connectivity which encourages alternate modes of transportation. The pedestrian and bicycle improvements route is 2.25 miles which begins at the northern intersection of Hadley Avenue/Walnut Street, continues north on Walnut Street, crosses the intersection of Spruce Avenue/Kilmer Street, continues north on Kilmer Street, east on Popular Avenue, north on Evelyn Street, west on E. Madrid Avenue, and ends near the intersection of Madrid Avenue/Solano Street. Utilities infrastructure to be improved along this route include a new water main along Walnut Street, from Hadley Avenue to Spruce Avenue, and a new water & gas main along E. Madrid Avenue, from Evelyn Street to Solano Street.
