Neighborhood Traffic Calming

Traffic Calming Program

The City of Las Cruces implements a comprehensive Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program (NTCP) in order to effectively address neighborhood concerns about issues such as:

  • Cut-Through Traffic
  • Pedestrian/Bicyclist Safety
  • Speeding

The goal of the NTCP is to enhance and protect the quality of life throughout the City by making neighborhoods safer for pedestrians, bicyclists, residents living in these neighborhoods, and the motoring public by altering the behavior of motorist and addressing these issues.

This can be accomplished with resident participation and the joint efforts of the City of Las Cruces Traffic Engineering Department and the Las Cruces Police Department via the Neighborhood Enforcement Team (NET) using education, enforcement, and engineering solutions.
