Various grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) are used to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing for qualifying low-income and disabled residents of Las Cruces.
Continuum of Care Plan
The Continuum of Care Plan is a coordinated approach to address the physical, economic, and social needs of the homeless population through the provisions of emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing and supportive services.
The New Mexico Coalition to End Homelessness (NMCEH) takes the lead in developing New Mexico’s Continuum of Care Plan for the homeless. NMCEH convenes, manages, and leads New Mexico’s balance-of-state Continuum of Care (CoC) Coalition. The Mesilla Valley Community of Hope (MVCH) provides numerous services for the homeless population in Las Cruces.
