The section's Recycling Center generates approximately $19,000 in
revenue each month from 700 tons of recycliable material. The center
and its six satellite centers accept newspeper, tin, aluminum, and
corrugated cardboard. The Recycling Center also accepts #1 and #2
plastic, household hazardous waste, office paper, appliances and
scrap metal, and tires. The Recycling Center also accepts approximately
500 tons of yard waste each month, which then is chipped and disposed
or composted at the old landfill.
