Traffic Signs and Street Markings

The Traffic Engineering Signing and Markings Crew is responsible for the maintenance of more than 12,000 traffic control signs within the city of Las Cruces. Along with the signing activity, it also oversees the biannual roadway striping program which is contracted  to outside companies and entails the restriping of all major roadways within the City. Crosswalk maintenance is generally conducted during warm weather months (May to September) to upgrade all crosswalk markings at major intersections and school crossings.

To report missing or damaged traffic control signs or problems with street markings, contact our office at 541-2505 Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. After-hour emergency calls, such as missing stop signs or downed signs lying within the roadway, can be reported to our dispatch at 526-0500. A 24 hour on-call sign technician will report to the incident within one hour.
