Traffic Calming

The City of Las Cruces is implementing a  comprehensive Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program (NTCP) in order to effectively address neighborhood concerns about issues such as:

*  Speeding
*  Cut-Through Traffic
*  Pedestrian/Bicyclist Safety

The goal of the NTCP is to enhance and protect the quality of life through out the City by making neighborhoods safer for pedestrians, bicyclists, residents living in these neighborhoods, and the motoring public by altering the behavior of motorists and addressing these issues. This can be accomplished with resident participation and the joint efforts of the City of Las Cruces Public Works Department and the Las Cruces Police Department via the Neighborhood Enforcement Team "NET" using education, enforcement, and engineering solutions.
