The Traffic Engineering Street Lighting crew is responsible for maintaining more than 5,000 street lights within the City of Las Cruces. Additionally, they also conduct the majority of the new street light installations within new developments and they perform maintenance activities involving the repair of reported street light outages and the reinstallation of knockdown street lights.

To report a street light malfunction or outage to our office, call 541-2505 Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Our goal is to repair those reported outages within 3 working days. After-hour emergency calls, such as downed stret lights, can be reported to our dispatch at 526-0500. A 24 hour on-call electrician will report to the incident within one hour.
