What's New

The next Transit Advisory Board Meeting is scheduled for August 21, 2008 at Convention and Visitors Bureau Board Room, 211 N. Water St., at 3pm.  PLEASE NOTE THE NEW LOCATION. 

CITY PROPOSES TRANSIT FARE INCREASE -- OPENS COMMENT PERIOD

On June 9, 2008 the City introduced a proposal for the first fare increase ever in its 22+ years of operation. If approved by the City Council, a two-step implementation of the new fares could begin as soon as October 2008.  The proposal is to increase the base fixed route fare from 50¢ to $1.00 and the Dial-a-Ride Fare from 75¢ to $2.00.  Public informational sessions will be announced in August.

         FREE Downtown Parking Shuttle (revised 7/5/07):  (click here for map and schedule)

  • Free Shuttle Parking located at Campo and Arizona streets
  • Provides service to the City Office Center (at Alameda and Lohman), Federal Court, Downtown Main Street, and City Hall
  • Shuttle runs every 15 minutes
  • Shuttle runs every 7-8 minutes during peak morning, mid-day and afternoon hours (see schedule for times)
  • The shuttle run Monday through Friday (except Holidays)

Transit Advisory Board Meeting

Transit Advisory Board meetings are held the third Thursday of every month at 3:00 p.m. in the Dresp Room at Branigan Library.  These are public meetings.  If you need directions or additional information, please call 541-2500.

Please be ready with your fare, exact change or tokens, or one of RoadRUNNER Transit’s convenient passes when boarding. All buses have electronic fare boxes that accept the following fare payments; U.S. currency $1, $5, $10 & $20 dollar bills. Susan B. Anthony and golden Sacagawea $1 coins as well as 1¢ 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, & 50¢, tokens, transfers, change cards, and magnetic passes. Bus operators do not carry change. Fares or overpayments are Non-refundable.

Where To Buy Your Passes

Bus passes can be purchased on board the bus. Lost or stolen passes will not be replaced. Tokens are purchased at the Transit office only.

  • On Any Bus – (Weekly, Bi-weekly, Day Passes, 31 Day, 30 Ride passes & Tokens)
  • Albertsons Stores – 3 locations: Customer Service Desk (31 Day only)
  • Las Cruces City Hall – Cashiers Desk: 200 N. Church (31 Day only)

Transfers

Transfers between bus routes are easy and free. Transfers are issued only upon request at the time a fare is paid. They are used to complete a one-way trip. Transfer tickets ay be requested with cash fares, tokens, & 30 ride passes. A transfer slip is not required with a 31 Day pass, Daily or weekly passes. Expired transfers will not be accepted.
