Quality Services For Las Cruces Residents
Quality-of-life has been listed as the number one
reason people are attracted to our great city. The Public Services
Department is a primary provider of these services to the citizens
of Las Cruces. Residents of all ages share quality-of-life services
at Branigan Library, through the Museum System, Recreation, Senior Programs
and Transit. The Department also oversees the Convention and Visitors
Bureau.
Branigan Library provides information, resources and education through
a full range of library services including the main library, branch
libraries, children's programs and Books by Mail.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau works to promote Las Cruces.
Actively seeking and recruiting potential visitors, attracting business
meetings, conventions and special events, the CVB encourages positive
activity for citizens, local businesses and guests.
The Museum System of the City of Las Cruces is committed to sharing
its resources to advance knowledge and nourish the human spirit.
Museums provide four distinct experiences at the Natural History,
Fine Arts, and Railroad Museum , and at the Branigan Cultural Center.
The Recreation Section provides organized programs and individual
leisure activities to residents by promoting healthy life styles.
Aquatics, Athletics, and other recreational and therapeutic opportunities
are available at recreation facilities.
The Senior Programs Section works to assist and improve life in
the areas of health maintenance, education, recreation, home care,
mobility, and community service. Senior services include congregate
meals, meals on wheels, a nutrition program and a
volunteer program.
The Transit Section provides transportation to residents through
the operation of a fixed route system and a dial-a-ride program.
The Public Services Department is your quality of life provider.
