Partnerships

The Weed & Seed Program is committed to implementing activities and projects for neighborhood improvement, restoration and beautification.  By working closely with Codes Enforcement, other City Departments, outside agencies and groups, Weed & Seed works to encourage residents to take pride in their neighborhood and to assist them in improving their homes and property.

Assistance

Whether you are a homeowner or renter, if your property is in need of rsoruces that will increase the beauty of the area, we may be able to provide assistance.  Assistance may be provided on a limited basis in the form of supplies, hardwar, and manpower necessary to improve the beauty and look of your home and property.

Getting Assistance

A screening application, to determine your eligibility and priority for services, is available at the Safe Haven.  If  you meet qualifications and are ranked as a high priority, the Neighborhood Revitalization staff will contact you to review your apllication and discuss what we can possibly offer to assist you.  However, dueto limited funding and other restrictions, not all applicatns and their needs can be addressed.

Our Goals

1.  Improve and maintain the quality of housing and rehabilitate property in the Mesquite Street Neighborhood within the Weed & Seed boundaries.

2.  Encourage home ownership and guidance toward buying a home.

3.  Beautify and restore neighborhoods.

What We Do

1.  Provide services to assist you in maintaining your home.

2.  Organize and coordinate businesses agencies and volunteers to carry-out repair, rehabilitate and     clean-up projects for the elderly, the disabled and single parent households.

3.  Locate resources to improve your homes and neighborhoods.

4.  Provide referrals and volunteers to assist with home rehab improvement projects.
