Safe Haven Spotlight
A Spotlight is a chance for the Weed and Seed to recognize a neighborhood resident, community partner, or local business who provides resources and encourages the empowerment and leadership of the Mesquite District and Weed and Seed Initiative.
Our program wishes to recognize Judy Baca, who has been with the City’s Victims Assistance as a Crime Victim Advocate for 8 months. Her professional background includes working for the State of New Mexico Judicial System for 27 years. Victims Assistance is a program designed to help individuals have a voice and receive support while dealing with domestic violence and realize how it impacts both individuals and the community.
As a public servant with an open door policy, support means referrals to community resources, awareness of the judicial system process, strive to complete prosecutions and create relationships with the City of Las Cruces Police Department.
Victims Assistance wishes to continue to support families and individuals going through domestic violence and if you should have any questions regarding your rights regardless of economics or education can contact Judy Baca at her office here at the Weed and Seed center located at 906 N. Tornillo Street at 528-4265.
