If the "Penalty Assessment" box (Section D) is marked on your citation, it cannot be scheduled for a hearing, or otherwise processed by the court. You must make payment to the Municipal Court at the following address.

  • Municipal Court
    135 E. Griggs Ave.
    Las Cruces, NM 88001
    Phone: (505) 541-2224

  • If the "Court Appearance" box (Section D) is marked, and the address 135 E. Griggs is written on the ADDRESS line, you may, WITHIN 30 DAYS from the date the citation is issued (Section C), exercise one of the options below.

  • Do not mail payment on for any Municipal Court Citation to the Motor Vehicle Division.  The Municipal Court is a separate agency.

  • Note: If you cannot afford the fees and fines on a payable citation, you can request of the judge to be placed on a Payment Plan Agreement or perform community service hours in lieu of the fines and fees.  The clerks cannot approve a payment plan or community service.  Appearance in front of a Judge is required in order to request those options.
