Dismissable Citations
If a citation is dismissed, you will not have to pay a fine, fees
or court costs. You should bring the required documentation to the
customer service window at the courthouse, within 30 days of the
date of your citation.
Insurance Citations
If you bring the insurance card that indicates you had insurance
on the date and time of the citation, the citation will be dismissed.
Bring the insurance card to the customer service window. If a citation
is dismissed, you will not have to pay a fine or court costs.
If you did not have insurance on the date and time of the citation,
a fine of $311 will be charged at the customer service window.
If you schedule a hearing and appear before a judge on this citation
and are found guilty, the Municipal Court Judge's Policy is to impose
the full fine amount.
Suspended driver’s license
Citations
If you have received a citation for driving with a suspended driver's
license, the citation will be dismissed when you bring your current,
valid New Mexico driver's license and your clearance from the Motor
Vehicle Department to the Municipal Court and appear for an arraignment
before a judge. You must see a judge. If you do not have a
valid license, the judge can impose a fine of up to $300 and/or 179
days in jail.

Defective Windshield Citation
Dismissed by bringing an invoice from an automotive business verifying
these repairs. (Fines)
Window Tint/Sunscreen Material Citation
Dismissed by bringing an invoice from an automotive business verifying
these repairs. (Fines)
No Tail Lights/Headlights Citation
Dismissed by bringing proof that you have replaced/repaired the
light(s). If you made this repair yourself, bring the receipt listing
the specific items purchased. (Fines)
