Fire Academy Graduates 14 Cadets
The Las Cruces Fire Department is set to graduate 14 cadets during a commencement ceremony set for Saturday, Dec. 15.
The ceremony will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Onate High School Auditorium on 5700 Mesa Grande Dr. The keynote speaker will be Fire Chief Ira David Daniels from Renton, Wash., representing the International Association of Fire Chiefs.
The Fire Academy, the 25th for the Las Cruces Fire Department, began Aug. 6 and is set to be completed Dec. 14. The cadets have undergone a rigorous physical and academic program that included 19 weeks of firefighter certifications and training for their Emergency Medical Technician license.
The graduating cadets are: Peter Brown, Breaux Burns, Paul Dombrowski, David Guerra, Erick Hernandez, Matthew Hiles, Tibor Kocsis, Joseph Lee, Jacob Lozano, Michael Medina, Ramiro Rios, Coy Roberts, Justin Whitefield and Adrian Zamora.
The cadets are expected to be hired by the Las Cruces Fire Department and will enhance the service provided to the community.
