Technical Support

The Las Cruces Utilities Technical Support Section provides overall utility management and technical support for plan and permit review, and the Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.

The Technical Support Section is committed to providing the most professional technical support to all Utility sections and the Las Cruces Utilities customers. This service is achieved by managing efficient and effective deployment of Engineering and Technical Support services and resources to support all Utility projects by conducting periodic reviews of Comprehensive Safety and Security Programs in all Utility sectors, and managing a streamlined water rights acquisition process.

Technical Support projects recently completed include the Jornada Water Tank Rehabilitation and Mural, and the West Mesa Water Project Phase IV. Project 2. Current projects include the East Mesa Water Reclamation Facility Booster Station and Pipe Project, and the Mixed Box Covers at the Jacob Hands Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The Technical Support Section is also beginning a new project with the property owners located within designated high priority septic replacement areas. State funding has been allocated to help the City pay costs associated with the installation of sanitary sewer mains, manholes, and associated services in these high priority locations. With the new sewer system available, property owners can replace their existing septic tanks by plumbing into the new City sewer system.

Carl N. Clark is licensed as a professional engineer in the State of New Mexico. Mr. Clark graduated from New Mexico State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and has worked for the City since 2003.
