June STEAMpunk Program will Focus on Eleanor Ormerod 2018

Witness the history of scientific discovery at the Museum of Nature and Science’s “STEAMpunk” program from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday, June 16. English entomologist Eleanor Ormerod will the focus of this month’s presentation.

During the one-hour program children ages 7 to 12 will explore Ormerod’s work as an entomologist and her contributions to understanding agricultural pests. Participants will learn to make and document observations of insects with language and art.

Admission is free to the Museum of Nature and Science, 411 N. Main St. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Saturday. For information, visit the City’s museums website or call 575/52-3120.
