Free July Classes 2018
Thomas Branigan Memorial Library is pleased to announce that free computer literacy classes will be held in the Computer Training Lab, second floor, during the month of July. Registration is not required, however, only the first 9 attendees will be guaranteed a computer. Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops if space permits.
Introduction to Computers: The Basics – Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 2 - 4 p.m.
A class for the absolute beginner. It will introduce students to the parts of the computer, the Windows environment and mouse skills. Students will learn the components of Windows-based programs.
Windows 10 – Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 2 – 4 p.m.
This class will describe the new features of Windows 10 and how to navigate the operating system. Topics that will be covered is the new Start Menu, Cortana and how to customize the desktop.
Microsoft Word Basics – Thursday, July 19 at 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
A class for those who are beginning to use Microsoft Word. Students will learn how to create and format basic documents. Basic computer skills are required.
Internet for Beginners – Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 2 – 4 p.m.
A class for those who want to learn how to go online and move around the internet with ease. Students will learn how to access websites, how to navigate, what web addresses are, basic searching skills, and internet safety.
Microsoft Excel Basics – Thursday, July 26 at 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
A class for those who are beginning to use Microsoft Excel. Students will learn how to create and format basic spreadsheets. Basic computer skills are required.
