Las Cruces Utilities Now Providing Account Alerts 2018
This morning, Las Cruces Utilities (LCU) began providing electronic informational alerts regarding customer account status. The initial set of text, email, and automated phone messages advised customers that LCU processed their payments and alerted them that the payments were posted to their accounts. The messages included the dollar amount of the payment, the bill number the payment was applied to, and the receipt number assigned to that transaction. Some customers misunderstood the payment amount and the bill number, which generated some concerns about utility account status. Customers who have questions about their account are encouraged to call LCU Customer Service at 575/541-2111.
The new text, email, and automated phone message alerts notify customers when their payment is received, if their account is past due, or if the account is scheduled for interruption due to non-payment. The email messages will be from CustomerService@las-cruces.org or Collections@las-cruces.org, depending on the department that is updating a customer’s status. Automated phone calls will show LCU’s main phone number, 575/541-2111, on caller ID.
LCU does not include any type of request for payment, or link to a payment service, in its messages and will always ask customers to call if they have any questions about the new message alerts, or their account. Customers that have not updated their utility account contact information and would like to take advantage of this new notification service, should call 575/541-2111 and one of LCU’s customer service representatives will be happy to assist.
