Branigan Library to Host Preview of New Teen Maker Space Room 2018
A preview to showcase a new Maker space room for teens will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31 at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave.
“The Maker space is a classroom for creativity and innovation,” said Stephanie Midwood, youth services librarian. “We will be offering programs such as video making, sewing, silk-screening, container gardening, video gaming and guitar lessons for teens, ages 12 to 18.”
The public will have an opportunity to tour the new space, on the library’s second floor. They will be able to see some of the room’s new technology, work on a maker craft project, and talk to library staff about future programs.
Regular programming and events for the Maker space room are scheduled to begin in mid-February.
