Public Invited to Dedication of “PRIDE” Sculpture 2018
The City of Las Cruces and the City Art Board invite the community to join them for the dedication ceremony of“Pride”, the newest public art sculpture recently installed at the East Mesa Public Safety (EMPS) Complex, 550 N. Sonoma Ranch Blvd. The ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, May 9.
“Pride” was created by artist Karen Yank. The title references the use of the Organ Mountains as “a wonderful metaphor representing the pride of the community.” The project honors the work of the City’s police and fire departments and is a collaborative effort of the City of Las Cruces Public Works and Quality of Life departments and the City Art Board.
