Youth Mural Arts Program 2018
The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department announces the start of a Mural Arts Program for local youth, grades 7–12, with all levels of artistic ability who have a desire to transform their community. Participants will become part of a skilled team capable of producing high quality public art.
It is highly encouraged that participants have a willingness and desire to learn about large-scale composition and advance their awareness of the visual language. Projects will be mostly outdoors with some indoor studio time.
Mural Arts Program registration begins April 16 with open enrollment throughout the year. Registration is at the Frank O’Brien Papen Center, 304 W. Bell Ave., Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The program is divided into 8-week sessions and meets 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday beginning May 5. The program is currently limited to 10 participants per 8-week session. This is a teen program and there is no cost to participate.
