City of Las Cruces Unveils Interactive Art Map 2018
Art is everywhere in the city and there is now a way to take a virtual tour. The City of Las Cruces is proud to announce the newly-created Art on City Property map where anyone can take an interactive tour of the City’s murals, statues and other public artwork with a click of a button. With more than 50 different artworks to see, the map has locations, descriptions, photos and names of the artists. The map can be accessed at http://www.las-cruces.org/publicart.
“This is one more way we’re connecting people to the City of Las Cruces and creating a more meaningful experience for them,” said Parks & Recreation Director Sonya Delgado. “The importance of public visual art in city spaces is critical to a thriving community and it’s available for everyone to experience.”
The City recognizes that quality of life is enhanced by support of a community’s art and cultural resources. The City Council established the City Art Board in 2013 and approved a resolution in 2015 establishing the Art Board’s strategic plan to provide support for the community’s artists.
