Master Plan and Survey

Residents, property owners, and business owners are invited to participate in an online public survey regarding access to park land and recreational programs. Responses will be used as part of an assessment of municipal park land and facilities, and to identify long-range goals for the development and enhancement of the City’s park system as part of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan update initiative.

The Parks and Recreation Master Plan update was initiated by City Council Resolution 19-066 on November 19, 2018 and is expected to take 6 months to complete. The most recent Parks and Recreation Master Plan was adopted in 2012.

A series of Open Houses are planned for late January for residents and interested persons to get more information.
They are as follows:

January 22 6 - 8 p.m. Dona Ana Community College Student Resources, 2800 Sonoma Ranch Boulevard
January 23 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Las Cruces Farmers Market, Downtown Main Street
January 23 6 - 8 p.m. Benavidez Community Center, 1045 McClure Road
January 24 6 - 8 p.m. Frank O'Brien Papen Community Center Auditorium, 304 West Bell Avenue

Residents, property owners, and business owners may access the public survey in English and Spanish here:

A Spanish version of the survey will be available in the coming weeks. The on-line survey will be available until Friday, February 1, 2019. The public will also be invited to participate in public open houses during the next four (4) months.
