Outdoor Pool Schedule

The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department seasonal outdoor pool schedule begins August 14 and ends September 4.

Fridays: Open swim session 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Saturdays: Open swim sessions Noon to 3 p.m. & 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Sundays: Open swim sessions Noon – 3 p.m. & 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.

The outdoor pools will also be open to the public on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4, from noon – 3:30 p.m. and 4 - 6:30 p.m.Laabs Pool is located at 750 W. Picacho Ave., and East Mesa Bataan Memorial Pool is located at 6141 Reynolds Rd.The Las Cruces Regional Aquatics Center will be open for its regular hours on Labor Day.


The Parks & Recreation Department Keep Las Cruces Beautiful along with, New Mexico Clean and Beautiful would like to announce we will be hosting the 23rd annual Toss No Mas campaign on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017. Hundreds of volunteers will collect litter at parks, schools, streets and business properties from 8 a.m. to 12 noon during the Toss No Mas campaign. Volunteers will then be treated to a free lunch sponsored by local businesses. The lunch will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at Young Park.

Individual volunteers, groups and civic organizations are encouraged to register before Oct. 9 for this year’s Toss No Mas campaign which is a great opportunity to show pride in Las Cruces. The Toss No Mas campaign is organized locally by Keep Las Cruces Beautiful, a program of the City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department. Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center Extended Hours of Operation

The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department, Recreation Programs Section, announces its extended hours of operation effective September 5, 2017.

Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave.; Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, noon to 6 p.m.

Recreation Facilities – July 3 Early Closure

In order to accommodate the City of Las Cruces Electric Light Parade being held in part on Hadley Avenue, the Parks & Recreation Department will close the Regional Aquatic Center and Meerscheidt Recreation Center at 6 p.m on July 3.

July 3 events include the annual Electric Light Parade and the Electric 5k / Fun Run. For more information, contact the Parks & Recreation Department at 575/541-2550.

Summer Swim Registration Cancelled, Classes Full

Due to the high turnout for Summer Swim Lessons Registration II on Saturday, June 24th, all classes are now full. As a result, there will be no registration this Saturday, July 1, at the Regional Aquatic Center, 1401 E. Hadley Ave.

Park Closure

Albert Johnson Park will be closed for construction June 21, 2017 till December 31, 2017.

Youth Scholarship Fund Accepting Applications

The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department will accept applications for the Youth Scholarship Fund for youth programs and activities presented through June 2017. Interested applicants must submit their application at the Parks & Recreation Administrative Office, 1501 E. Hadley Ave. Find out more!

Youth Mural Arts Program

The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department announces the start of a Mural Arts Program for local youth, grades 7– 12. The program is currently seeking teens with artistic ability and a desire to transform their community. Participants will become part of a skilled team capable of producing high quality public art.
