Las Cruces International Airport

The Las Cruces International Airport (LRU) is a thriving general aviation airport located right off Interstate 10 on the West Mesa about 8 miles from downtown Las Cruces. The airport has three runways (including a precision instrument approach), a full-service FBO, ample tie-down space, and plenty of room to grow.

LRU is an ideal location for general aviation and corporate aviation in addition to Unmanned Aerial activity including testing and system development. If you are looking for scheduled passenger airline service, El Paso International Airport is just a 45-minute drive south from downtown Las Cruces.

The Model Collection of Rolf Mitchel

On display at the Las Cruces International Airport are a collection of about 60 models of historic planes and ships collected and assembled by Rolf Mitchel. Mr. Mitchel, a longtime resident of Las Cruces and former member of the Airport Advisory Board, donated the collection to the City in 2014. The collection, maintained by the Las Cruces Museum System, contains models of air and sea vessels of several historic battles, particularly those of World War II. The models can be viewed in the main airport terminal during regular operating hours. Call the airport at 575-541-2471 for more information.
