Las Cruces Utilities Billing Process and Customer Bills Undergo Transformation

Las Cruces Utilities (LCU) is transitioning to a new bill printing operation that will reduce costs, improve efficiencies and result in a redesigned, easier-to-read invoice.

After years of printing utility bills in-house, LCU is outsourcing the operation. The utilities department sends out more than 43,000 bills monthly at an annual cost of approximately $360,000. By outsourcing, LCU will save approximately $58,000 annually.

Another very important benefit to outsourcing the bill printing operation is a turnaround guarantee that bills will be printed and sent out the same day they are received.

The new bills will begin arriving this month.

LCU encourages customers to go paperless by signing up for E-Billing, where customers can receive their bill by email, and pay online, avoiding mailing delays. Email your request to customerservice@las-cruces.org. Include our name, full account number and email address.
