The City of Las Cruces Senior Programs has been serving the residents of Las Cruces and Dona Ana County for over thirty years. Through innovative programs and quality services, Senior Programs has evolved into an exemplary model, dedicated to enriching and improving the lives of older adults in our community.
Some services may request a donation or nominal fee; however, no one will be denied services for not contributing. Senior Programs offers a wide variety of health and wellness classes. Students work at their own pace. Beginning students as well as seasoned athletes are encouraged to participate. Whether your focus is on recreation, education, or fitness. Senior Programs has something for you to enjoy!
The focus of the In-Home Services program is to aide individuals who have a disability or ailment that restricts them from being able to upkeep their home independently without risk and/or unable to prepare their own meals. Other qualifications apply. Services provided by In-Home Services staff include home care, Meals on Wheels, respite and case management.
Visit our Resource Center for assistance with completion of forms, referrals to legal aide, to find out about housing options for older adults, help with Medicare questions, to apply for food stamps. If you are in need of information, visit our Resource Center and get the answers you need.
Senior Nutrition services is on a mission! Their aim is to provide guests with nutritious, appetizing and tasty meals at any of our four congregate Centers. The same meal is delivered through our Meals-on-Wheels program. The suggested donation for adults age 60 years of age and older and their spouses is $2.50 for the congregate meal. Persons age 50-59 are charged $6.25 for congregate meals. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For reservations, please call 575-528-3012 by 1 p.m. the day before you want to eat.
