FAQ

How do I become a member of Senior Programs?

You must be 50 years of age to be eligible for membership in Senior Programs.

What is the cost to become a member of Senior Programs?

We do not charge for membership in Senior Programs.

Why is the age limit so low to be considered a "senior"?

We want people under the age of 65 to enjoy the benefits of Senior Programs. We offer FUN, friendship and opportunities to learn that shouldn’t be limited to only those who may be retired.

What does it cost to participate in programs?

Our health and wellness programs currently operate on a suggested donation. Each class has a donation box and sign in sheet for participant’s use. The art classes have a small registration fee and fee for a kit that is used in class. The nutrition program requests a suggested donation for those 60 and over. (For specific information on the nutrition program costs please go to the Nutrition bar on the home page.) We offer many educational opportunities and workshops that are free of cost.

The hikes vary from easy to difficult and each hike is rated so that participants know ahead of time what to expect. We also have a very active group of walkers, Heart Healthy Walkers, who walk all over Las Cruces and the surrounding counties. We also offer day trips to various locations for both entertainment and education. For more information about our day trips, hiking and walking programs, please call 575-528-3000.
