South Central Solid Waste Authority
The South Central Solid Waste Authority is the city/county agency responsible for handling solid waste and recyclables in Las Cruces and Dona Ana County. This agency manages:
•Corralitos Landfill (15 miles west of Las Cruces)
•Transfer Station and Recycling Center (2865 W. Amador Avenue)
•Eight County Community Collection Centers
•Six City drop-off Recycling Sites
•Twenty Seven School drop-off sites
Friedman Recycling
Friedman Recycling Company handles the pickup and handling of recycleable materials for SCSWA in Las Cruces. All of the recyclable materials picked up by Friedman Recycling are processed at their El Paso processing plant. Follow this link to find out more about Friedman Recycling.
NM Recycling Coalition
Since 1991, the New Mexico Recycling Coalition has served as a resource to provide recycling information to professionals in the field, as well as to the general public. Our mission is to lead New Mexico to value waste as a resource. We serve as recycling advocates working with a diverse group of stakeholders, communities, businesses, schools and grassroots activists to help build sustainable and efficient recycling programs.
