Services
The Information Technology Department (IT) services are broken down into two major categories namely Information System Services and Infrastructure Services. The former is comprised of Data Center Operations, Database Administration, Systems Administration, Enterprise Services and Geographic Information Systems; whereas, the latter consists of Network Administration, Desktop Support, Radio & Electronics, and Telecommunications. The IT Department’s responsibility is to assist the City’s departments with the use of technology. For the most part the complete portion of the tasks performed by IT is internal to the city’s departments. However on occasion, IT will be in the position to indirectly provide services to the public such is the case with online services.
In an effort to better serve and aid the citizen of the City of Las Cruces, the following presents an overview of the services provided by the City's IT Department in meeting with the technological needs of our constituents.
User Support Services: Supporting services to the City's internal departmental users, including but not limited to, technical training, technology review and analysis, integration, maintenance, desktop support and consulting.
Enterprise Services: Support for the City's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, custom programming, administration of City databases, administration of City computational infrastructure, cyber security, data integrity and so forth.
E-Services: A modern and user friendly website has been developed for the public to assist as a tool in the transparency of the City's government activities. In addition several online services are made available to the public and many more are in the project queue awaiting their debut. Currently some examples of available online services are Utility E-Pay, Court/Ticket Fine, Library Services, Reserve a Park, Museum Services, Council Meeting Video, Traffic Alerts, Grappler Service.
