Patrick G. Gallagher began serving the City as Chief of the Las Cruces Police Department on January 15, 2018.
Gallagher previous served as Chief for the City of Santa Fe and, prior to that, was Chief for the City of Truth or Consequences, NM.
Gallagher has nearly 30 years of law enforcement experience. Prior to moving to New Mexico and serving three years as Chief in T. or C., Gallagher worked with the New York City Police Department as deputy inspector and captain/internal affairs bureau division commander, World Trade Center Zone Commander and executive officer of the 60th Precinct.
Gallagher earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Fordham University and his master's in public administration from Marist College.
