What is the Plan4LasCruces?

plan4lascruces map Plan4LasCruces is the Comprehensive Plan for the City of Las Cruces and provides a vision of what the city should be, a guide for municipal decision-makers for capital improvements, and a tool for managing community changes that may affect the physical development and maintenance in the city.

Staff gave a presentation on the Plan4LasCruces update to the Planning & Zoning Commission (P&Z) at their regular meeting on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. The P&Z decided to table the Plan for six months. The City decided to work with a Consultant to complete the Comprehensive Plan in its entirety over an 18-month timeframe. On May 7th, 2018 City Council selected Halff & Associates to work on the City’s Comprehensive Plan More details forthcoming.

public engagement summary cover The Plan4LasCruces Public Engagement Summary was submitted on June 20, 2017 to the Planning & Zoning Commission for their review. A draft plan was submitted on September 19, 2017.

As part of the Health Community Chapter community engagement the City teamed up with Blue Zones, a nationally recognized consultant on the built environment to host a Discovery Phase in October, 2015 and a series of Neighborhood workshops in March-April 2016.
