Planning

The Planning Section engages in long term and comprehensive planning, transportation planning, neighborhood and sector planning, data collection to support planning activities, and updating codes and ordinances to implement plans. Please choose from the options below:

Comprehensive Planning: A description of comprehensive planning activities around the city and information about the Las Cruces City Plan.

Transportation Planning: The Las Cruces Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) oversees the transportation planning in and around the City of Las Cruces.

Neighborhood and Sector Planning: There are a number of existing overlay districts in which the City encourages specific types of development.

Population Information: The planning section does estimates of current population and projections of future population. You will also find links to Census information.

Rules, Regulations and Ordinances: The Zoning and Subdivision Codes, Design Standards and other ordinances related to planning, zoning and building construction.
