Business License and Registration
Business Registrations has moved to the Economic Development Office at 250 South Downtown Mall. This change is effective May 14th, 2008. Contact Vicki Montes at 575-541-2287 or vickim@las-cruces.org.
The Community
Development Department administers the processing and issuance
of business registrations and licensing for any type of business
activity within the city. This includes commercial enterprises,
restaurants, home occupations, and temporary businesses such as
firework stands, seasonal sales and special events.
All businesses
operating in New Mexico must register with the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department. If you operate a business and you are
located within the city limits of the City of Las Cruces, you must
also have a City Business Registration or License.
A business
registration or license is valid for one year. Each year the
business must renew the registration or license. Businesses will
receive a renewal reminder from the Community Development
Department.
