    Working with light weights, tubes, bands, targets smaller and larger muscles in the body. Core, building a strong core, from the shoulders to the hips. Targets muscles around the spine and abdominal's. Stretch, to increase flexibility and balance

    Puts extra emphasis on toning and sculpting to define those muscles by using toning sticks or light weights.

Youth Recreation and Sports Leagues

  1. Skills Deveolpment - Gymnastics/Parent & Me

    This is an introduction class for new young athletes. For most students this is their first classroom experience, and it has been tailored to include the involvement of a parent or guardian. The goal is for students to learn the fundamentals of gymnastics, become comfortable in their environment, and achieve more independence. Skill will be assessed at the discretion of an instructor. Participants found to be in the wrong grouping for their skill level, will be moved to the appropriate class. Participants need to wear clothing they can move in. A parent must be present with children during all class times. No unattended children are allowed in the facility or park area. Gymnastic equipment and room are for gymnastics class only during scheduled class times.

    May 28, 2020, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM @ East Mesa Recreation Center

    This class is designed for students with a basic understanding of gymnastics. Students will work to refine basic gymnastics skills. Though completion of the Parent and Me session is not a requirement for this class, it is recommended. Requirements: wall assisted handstand (facing inward), monkey jump, a bridge, front support on bars.
