Youth Recreation and Sports Leagues

  1. 50+ Walking Program

    July 3, 2019, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM @ Frank O'Brien Papen Community Center

    The 50 Plus Walking Program/0-60 in 16 weeks, is designed to get you walking up to 60 minutes in 16 weeks! It begins with 20-minute walks, three times a week, and works up to 60 minutes. Distance is not the priority, movement is. No racing or competition, just a focus on health and well-being. Already an active walker? This is a great way to meet new people, walk and socialize! Participants walk at their own pace for a set time. Distance will be tracked every day to monitor individual improvement. Every fourth week will be an optional field trip at another location.

    One of the great Las Cruces summer events! Las Cruces Running Club in partnership with The City of Las Cruces Announces 2019 Electric 5K July 3 before Electric Light Parade. The Electric Light Parade is a Las Cruces tradition that includes the excitement of a great 3.1 mile running race on the parade route plus an All-Ages 1 Mile Fun Run! This event is fun for serious and casual runners. Families and groups are invited to decorate for the parade and twilight evening running race. Electric 5K is 3.1 miles on closed road secure course: Hadley to Solano to Madrid Out & Back Start / Finish @ Meerscheidt Center. 1 Mile FunRun Start 7:40pm Electric 5K Starts 8pm. Las Cruces Running Club produces Electric 5K in support of The Electric Light Parade adding quality and diversity to the event.
