The department is composed of the following sections:

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Services

GIS Staff assists other Department staff, other City departments, and the public with a variety of data-gathering / database creation and computer mapping, e.g., updating water utilities database, fire hydrant locations atlas, crime distribution maps, zoning and database and maps update, updates of property parcel database.

Radio & Electronics

The Radio section supports the City's radio system that services the police, fire, emergency services. The Radio office services and repairs video cameras, radar guns, and the flashing light systems used on police and fire vehicles.

Operations & Programing (O&P )

O&P provide digital financial services for the City as well as other programing needs and software support for database applications, web development and eCommerce.

Payroll, Utility billing for the City and Rio Grande,GIS, accounts receivable, Utility ePay, Customer Services and General Ledger are supported by O&P.

Telecommunication

The telecommunications shop provides 4-digit dialing within the City offices and maintains 1200 telephone lines, which support voice, fax, data transmission and voice mail.

Networking

Networking maintains and supports all computer systems within the City. Provides operation, support, design and connectivity and security for more than 800 computers throughout the City and affiliate organizations.
