EEO / Training Office

The City EEO / Training Office is responsible for the training and EEO functions within the organization:

Training:

The office develops and designs the City’s training program to support City employee development.  The training program includes classes on computer skills, customer service, management/supervisory, office skills, EEO issues and other City topics.

Training calendars and information are available and distributed throughout the City to inform employees of training opportunities.  Employees may submit a training request and discuss training needs with their supervisors.  Employees need to take into consideration that certain classes have prerequisites and /or limited seating.  Employees who have been enrolled in a training class will be notified once the final training roster is released.  Additionally, the office maintains an extensive employee training history.

Information on City training classes and registrations may also be found on the web page.

EEO:

City Policy:  The City does not tolerate any form of unlawful discrimination on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, color, ancestry, serious medical condition, national origin, age or disability, in city employment, city operated programs, services or facilities.

The office provides assistance with interpretation of City policy and federal and state laws dealing with discrimination.  Additionally, the office may receive internal complaints and conduct internal investigations.  Further information on EEO-based discrimination/harassment and process for filing an internal complaint may be obtained in Section 1103 of the City of Las Cruces Personnel Manual.
